I'm helping organize an online auction for my friend, William, a 5 year old boy living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne is a rare and devastating genetic disorder that affects boys, resulting in muscle wasting and loss of mobility. Boys with Duchenne rarely live into their late twenties. Would (business name) be willing to donate (item or service) for us to auction off to fund research into treatment? Last year we raised over $10,000 and this year we hope to double that, but can’t make that happen without some awesome donations from companies like yours.

William received his Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy diagnosis in 2020, and we have been doing all we can to raise funds for his treatment, much of which isn't covered by insurance. The auction is scheduled for October 19th-22nd, 2023, right before the holiday season ramps up.

A non-profit named Cure Rare Disease is working with William’s family on a unique clinical trial where each patient gets their own custom treatment using CRISPR gene editing technology. A team of researchers is working to formulate William’s individual treatment, and we are at a critical stage of research and development, but funding this research is very expensive. Every donation is tax-deductible and they are a 501(c)(3).
